Production ProcessHow is a fine yarn, which is later destined to be used in the production of fashionable fabrics, knitwear and technical fabrics, made from fibres? Preliminary ProcedureAll woollen tops, synthetics and special fibres (e.g. silk) are mixed to attain the desired percentages for material and color composition. The fibres are simultaneously straightened and matched by drafting. The combing machine then combs short fibres and impurities out of the material by using various metal combs. This results in the tops being cleaner and more even. The next working process involves gradual distortion and refining in order to create a "roving". The finisher uses rubbing to give the roving band the necessary strength for further processing. Next Stage: The Ring Spinnery » |
